Personalised dinosaur iron-on name labels from Lulu Labels

Iron-on school labels: what to know before you order

Lulu Labels iron-on labels are personalised clothing labels applied with an iron rather than sewn in. This guide covers our iron-on school labels before you order: pack contents, clothing suitability, care claims and personalisation checks.

What is in a pack

The individual iron-on packs listed in the collection contain 55 labels, each 35 × 10 mm. Count the garments and other suitable fabric items you need to mark; 55 labels are not a guarantee of covering an entire uniform or leaving spares. If you need iron-ons alongside stationery and lunch box labels, they also come inside our school label packs, from 15 iron-ons in the Mini pack to 110 in the Large.

No sewing, no fuss

The product descriptions specify iron-on application with no sewing and describe a soft finish. Follow the instructions supplied with your labels for temperature, pressure, timing and the wait before washing. Check the garment’s care label first; if the fabric cannot tolerate the required heat, ask us about a suitable alternative rather than experimenting.

Light & dark uniforms

The iron-on product descriptions state that the labels work on light and dark clothing. Colour suitability does not mean every fabric is suitable for ironing: check the garment’s heat restrictions and the supplied application instructions. Do not assume a blazer, coated fabric or delicate item can take the same treatment as a cotton shirt.

Washing machine, tumble dryer & the rest

The individual iron-on listings describe the labels as waterproof, fade-resistant, washing-machine-safe and tumble-dryer-safe. These are product claims, not a specified wash count or a guarantee of lasting a full school year. Follow both the label instructions and the garment’s care requirements; a washable label does not make a dry-clean-only garment machine washable.

Personalising the labels

Use the personalisation fields on your chosen product page and check any preview it offers. The descriptions do not specify a universal character allowance or standalone contact-number option, so confirm those details before ordering. For surname-only labels shared between siblings, check that the wording meets each school’s requirements and still identifies the owner clearly.

Choosing a theme

The iron-on range matches our school label themes, so you can pick the same Dinosaurs, Pink Unicorns, Space or Sports design for the uniform as for the lunch box, or go Plain for a high school child who wants a name and nothing else. The current range runs to 23 designs, and ten Original designs from our earlier artwork, such as Owls, Transport and Sea Creatures, offer another artwork choice. Compare the actual product images if you want to coordinate with an existing pack.

Iron-on labels or a clothing stamp

The personalised clothing stamp is a different option: its listing specifies black ink for light fabrics, applied directly to the garment rather than its care label. Iron-on labels offer printed colour designs and are listed for light and dark clothing, but require suitable heat application.

Option Best suited to Check first
Iron-on labels Printed name designs on suitable light or dark garments Garment heat tolerance and application instructions
Personalised clothing stamp Black-ink names directly on suitable light fabrics Fabric suitability and legibility; not for garment care-label surfaces

For the quantities included with mixed packs, see our school label pack comparison.

Ordering

Choose a theme, confirm the personalisation offered and check spelling before paying. The shipping policy allows five working days for manufacturing before collection or shipping; courier delivery takes additional time. Check the service and timing at checkout. If you do not have the supplied application instructions, ask us before applying the labels.
